FRIENDS

Welcome to the Friends of the National Open Art Competition.

  • Our President His Grace The Duke of Richmond set up the charitable Chichester Art Trust in 1996 as a part of his dream to see Chichester become a national and international City of The Arts by 2020.
  • The ensuing competition and exhibition has gone from strength to strength.  Each autumn this exhibition runs for two weeks at The Minerva Gallery at The Chichester Festival Theatre and entertains over 5000 visitors. The prize winning works are later showcased in the internationally prestigious Pallant House Gallery.
  • Much of this success is down to the continued support and encouragement of our many supporters without whom we would not still exist. We would welcome your support as a member of the 100 Club or as a patron or prize donor.
  • We receive no public funding and rely on the generosity of our Sponsors, Patrons and Friends.
  • We look forward to welcoming you to our annual exhibition and some of our annual events too.  As a team we enjoy making this one of the most important annual art competitions in the United Kingdom.
