CONDITIONS OF ENTRY

THE ENTRANT

  • Must live, or be professionally based, in the United Kingdom
  • May enter a maximum of 6 art works.
  • Undertakes that the work is of his/her own origination, and that he or she holds all moral and intellectual property rights in that work.
  • Accepts, by signing the registration form that the images and art work, if shortlisted, are entered at the artist’s own risk. The organisers are not liable for any loss or damage incurred to the image or painting, if shortlisted or selected for the exhibition itself. If shortlisted for judging at Goodwood from Monday 11th October 2010 and then subsequently the exhibition, the organisers will not be liable for any loss or damage, however caused, either in transit or to and from the exhibition, or during any period of storage, packing or unpacking, or in any period in which the work is in their keeping.
  • Is strongly advised to take out their own commercial insurance to cover the work in transit (two-ways) and during the selection/exhibition period.
  • Accepts that the paintings submitted will be available for sale in the exhibition and on our website and online gallery for a designated period to be determined, following the announcement of the 2010 finalists, and that The Chichester Art Trust will take a commission of 40%.
  • Accepts that if they are VAT registered, that this will also be included in the price of the work, stated by the artist on the Submission Form.
  • If selected for the exhibition, agrees to the reproduction of their work (at no fee) in association with the exhibition (including press/publicity/website & catalogue and any other printed material).
  • A young artist must be 25yrs old or younger at the date of the start of the 2010 exhibition.

THE IMAGE

  • A maximum of 6 (six) works may be entered into the competition. Only one image of each of these shown as a whole must be submitted.
  • The image (s) of the art work (s) must not be manipulated in any way and must be of the art work (s) entered. The art work shown on the image (s) must be available, if shortlisted, for judging at Goodwood from Monday 11th October 2010 and the exhibition itself.
  • The image (s) and the completed submission form must be submitted online or if you are unable to submit online we will accept images on a CD, clearly labelled with submission numbers, with the completed submission form sent to the following address:

  • Full details about entering online, including digital image requirements, will be given in the confirmation of registration email that you receive once you have registered or click here for more information regarding digital images.
  • The image (s) and completed submission form must be submitted on-line by midnight Sunday 5th September extended from Tuesday 31st August 2010. Entries received after this will be invalid.

THE ART WORK

  • Must be new or recent (preferably in the last 3 years).
  • Paintings, drawings, original prints and mixed media constructions (of no more than 15cms in depth) are accepted.
  • Art photographs will be accepted but video art will NOT.
  • Must be designed to hang on a wall.
  • Must be the original work of the artist named on the registration form.
  • Must, if shortlisted for Goodwood judging, be the same work previously submitted as a digital image and be available for Goodwood judging and if selected for the exhibition.
  • Must not exceed 183cms x 183cms (including the frame) and must not project more than 15cms from the wall
  • Work made up of more than one piece, such as a diptych or triptych, must also be no larger than 183cms x 183cms x 15cms when displayed on the wall (including the frame).
  • The artist must state the sale price of the work on the submission form and this should include VAT (if he/she is VAT registered) and the 40% commission to the Chichester Art Trust. This price will be listed in the catalogue and on our website.

GOODWOOD JUDGING

  • Works shortlisted for the second judging Monday 11th October 2010 must be available from the time of submission  until an email is received confirming acceptance or rejection at which time collection dates will be available for those works not selected.
  • If work has been selected for the exhibition, these works must continue to be available until the close of the Exhibition at The Minerva Theatre.
  • If a work is a prizewinner, it must be available to the Chichester Art Trust until the end of its showing at Pallant House Gallery and at any further showing in a London venue. (Details to be posted)
  • If you feel you have not been judged fairly after your acceptance of the NOACC's conditions of entry, please send us details of your complaint and we will review it within 14 days and if required refund your initial registration fee of £20.
